Telma H is a combination medicine that contains Hydrochlorothiazide and Telmisartan as its active ingredient.  It is manufactured by Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Limited and it is available as 12.5 mg/40 mg and 12.5 mg/80 mg tablets.

Telma H is a combination medicine that contains Hydrochlorothiazide (12.5 mg) and Telmisartan (40 mg) as its active ingredient. The medicine is an anti-hypertensive medicine that works as:

A few other factors that help in deciding the dosage are the BMI of the patient, age of the patient and other underlying health concerns.

• Missed Dosage: The patient should take the missed dose as soon as it is remembered. How to use Telma H Tablet?

Telma H Tablets should be consumed as per the prescription of the doctor or the patient should follow the directions prescribed on the label. One must not increase or decrease the quantity without consulting the doctor. It is advised to swallow the tablet as a whole, without chewing, crushing or breaking it.

The absorption of Telma H is not influenced by the food and thus can be consumed with or without food, as advised by the doctor. However, to prevent any undesirable effect, especially in patients suffering from gastric disorders, it should be taken with food or immediately after food.

How does Telma H Tablet Work?

Telma H tablets contain two salts: Telmisartan and Hydrochlorothiazide. These two work together to lower high blood pressure.

Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist that works by blocking the angiotensin hormone. By doing so, it relaxes the blood vessels, which ensures a smooth flow of blood and that the heart pumps blood more productively.

Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic drug that works by removing excess water and some electrolytes from the body to relax the blood vessel and enhance blood flow.

When is Telma H prescribed?

Telma H Tablet is an antihypertensive drug that is primarily used to treat elevated levels of blood pressure (or hypertension). Doctors may also prescribe this medicine to prevent the risk of heart attack, stroke, renal and liver impairment.
